Location : Blassingham Park, west of playground equipment
9 Plots Available – Approx 10’x19′
Allowed Plants and Restrictions
- All vegetation is permitted including fruit, flowers and vegetables
- Plots must be maintained by the person/family/families assigned to it. Any plot left unattended will be cleared by the park district
- Watering must be done in person. Sprinkler systems and hoses left on will not be permitted
- Pesticides and toxic substances will not be permitted. Remember this is a park
- All plant material must be removed from park by Oct 31
Equipment and Supplies
- Plots will be tilled and prepared by the Park District
- The water pump at the park is accessible to all participants. However, due to people turning the hydrant on in the middle of the night, it does have a lock on it and a code will be given to you.
- All seeds, plant starts, gardening tools, and watering cans are self supplied
- Participants can fence their plot as desired as long as it does not interfere with other plots or restrict access to the park district.
Plot Assignment Procedure
- Plots will be advertised on our website and on facebook
- Interested participants can email or message on facebook to reserve their plot.
- Plots are first come, first serve.
- Will need name, phone number and email
Community Garden Timeline
- Plots will be tilled up in April to prepare for planting
- Plots will be closed Oct 31. All plants need to be cleared and vegetation removed from the park.
ANY VIOLATION OF THE ABOVE RULES, WILL RESULT IN BLOCKING OF FUTURE USE
